Support for dogs struggling with anxiety, reactivity, or aggression. We focus on resolving the root cause of behavior, helping your dog feel more stable while giving you practical control and a calmer home.
Learn MoreSet your puppy up for long-term success through early training and socialization. This program focuses on prevention, building confidence, and creating healthy habits before problem behaviors develop.
Learn MoreAt Insight and Instinct, we do things differently. We’ve made a choice to keep our client-family small so that your dog gets the individualized, detailed attention they actually need. There are no “cookie-cutter”, one size fits all methods here. We adapt our techniques to your dog’s specific temperament, traits, and needs, and your unique lifestyle.
At Insight and Instinct, you’re not just another appointment on a calendar. You’re joining the community we’re building, one made up of people like you – pet parents with dogs they love, dogs who need help, and guardians who need support. A community that values:
We offer multiple training pathways to help your dog succeed, ranging from proactive puppy development to intensive behavioral rehabilitation.
At Insight and Instinct, everything we do is guided by a clear set of principles. These values shape how we work with dogs, how we support their people, and how we approach lasting behavior change.
We take the time to get to truly know your dog - their little quirks, their favorite treats, and what they really need to succeed and be well.
By limiting the number of clients we work with, we create a calm, focused environment where you and your dog can get the help you need, whether we're working with your dog at our place, yours, or virtually.
Helping a dog with behavior issues is a family journey. We're here to support you every step of the way with personalized advice that fits your actual lifestyle and needs.
At Insight and Instinct, we deliver consistency and compassion, and we build trust. That's how you help dogs who are struggling, and that's how you help the people struggling with them.
We limit our intake because we refuse to compromise on the care and attention to detail each dog and family receives. Every dog in our care gets the same patience and attention we give our own.

Inspired by our own dog’s journey through severe trauma, we have established Bailey’s Fund. Bailey’s Fund (BF) is a nonprofit Ohio corporation dedicated to enabling the disabled, disadvantaged, and elderly to keep their dogs in their homes by providing education, behavioral and training assistance, and support. We donate a portion of our proceeds to Bailey’s Fund to support its mission to help those in need, and have permanently gifted one kennel in our facility to Bailey’s Fund. Professional, rewards-based dog trainers, behavior consultants, other organizations, and those seeking help can learn more here: Bailey’s Fund — Every Dog Deserves a Second Chance.
Bailey’s Fund’s primary place of business is in Lorain County, Ohio. BF is in the process of applying for tax-exempt status, but tax-exempt status under Sec. 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code has NOT been granted at this time. Contributions to BF are gratefully received and will help us in our mission, but they are NOT tax-deductible at this time.
